Safety is a core value at Idaho Forest Group and is uncompromising. Providing a safe and healthy workplace for all team members, contractors and visitors is our highest responsibility and a condition of employment at every level of the organization. No job is so urgent or important that it cannot be done safely.
We have one overarching Health & Safety Policy, and each operation has site-specific safety procedures, hazard assessments and safe work practices tailored to their operations.
Safety is a shared responsibility. Leaders are accountable for setting expectations, modeling safe behaviors, and ensuring compliance. All team members are responsible for following procedures, using required protective equipment, participating in training, and speaking up when something is unsafe.
How We Manage Safety
- Safety committees made up of management and non-management team members from all departments
- Routine inspections and audits to ensure equipment, processes and work areas are compliant and remain hazard free
- Consistent group safety meetings to discuss, review and identify potential issues
- Standard processes and tracking tools for reporting and investigating incidents, including near miss events
- Enterprise-wide safety calls and alerts to review incidents, provide consistent visibility, accountability, and shared lessons across all operations.
- Ongoing training for all employees, in-person and online.
- Performance metrics to evaluate and enhance safety and training systems.
